The Death of Death: Chapter 1 (open rp)

Hiro took a cigarette "I swore I'd quick this addiction but who cares now right" he took a book of matches and lit up his cigarette. As the smoke went down and out Hiro looked at the man who presented himself "I'll follow for now, nowhere else to go or do" he took another inhale, and let out slowly the air becoming thicker around him and blake.

Now they could smell. Not to question the impossibility of zombies, but more to complain, Dustin questioned how they could smell at all, having a decomposed olfactory nerve. Again back on that stupid tower, this time out of need, Dustin was using the empty shotgun as a bat, attempting to know off the small groups of zombies climbing after him. He was doing suprisingly well at that, but he was worried about when the cold would slow his reaction time, and also when hypothermia would set in. It was very windy. About two hours after he collected zombie blood, more a force of habit than anything that might be useful, the studio doors buckled under a teeming horde of the things. The shotgun wasnt even getting bent. It could take a while to die OR to live. Not good either way. By his calculations, the sun would be dawning soon, so he might make it. Just maybe.

Selene watched as the two alpha males had a passive/aggressive pissing contest. She muttered an introduction to Kitty and Hiro and waved the offer of a cigarette away. What she wanted was to be back in her library, safe and familiar territory. She would have traded anything to smell the antique furniture polish on all tables and chairs and the texture of the crisp paper in the reference room rather than the smell of blood and burning buildings, and the cold steel in her tense grip. Pulling herself back into reality, she just decided to watch from the side lines and keep quiet for the time being. Hiro’s right she thought there’s not else much to do anymore but to follow.

Jenn waved her to turned down the offer for a cigarette. Jenn introduced herself to Kitty and Hiro while Jack and Blake were fighting over control of the group. After that was over she heard the plan and agreed to it. I moved to Cranville for some peace and now it's a nightmare, what else can go wrong Jenn thought while standing there quietly, and listening to what was being said.

Hiro watched the two planning and talking and with another cigarette in hand went off to the back. Standing he looked out the window, the darkness was clearing a bit daytime approaches but in this hell it seems inevitable that darkness will seep back in quite quickly He looked at the cigarette and put it away, instead took another swig of his canteen Before I leave better make some more His canteen which was full a few days ago was now nearing one more swig before it was empty.

James held the machete at the ready for any attackers from behind. Selene turned around and introduced herself and James shook her hand and introduced himself to her and Jenn. Jack all of a sudden starts yelling and then pointed at the movement running for the back of the store. They all ran after it in time to find more people!

After Jack argued with the leader of the other group and then Jack talked about the fence. Once there was a slow-age of conversation James said, "Jack I'm sure you saved me from certain death back on that road, it would be only fair for me to back you in your decisions, I'm join you in closing the gate."

Kitty watched as Blake and Hiro smoked their cigarettes. Her first thought was about how unhealthy it was to smoke but then she remembered that all of them may not live through this anyway. She heard that smoking relaxed the nerves but what if they did make it out of this mess? She looked at Blake and Hiro, "Smoking's bad for your health ya know." She knew they wouldn't listen but at least she tried to help.

She looked at Jack. Was it really safe to attempt to fight the zombies? She tried not to think about how they were once neighbors and friends and family. Anyway, her and Blake were able to make it this far by themselves, and then Hiro helped out, and now there were 7 of them. "I'm in."

"You try becoming a soldier and staying away from the things, it's practically a requirement." Blake says while taking another drag of his cigarette. When Jack came back he listened to find out what sort of idea he would come up with.

Blake states with a bit of sarcasm, "Whatever you want Jack, I'm just here to tag along." He stands and puts out his cigarette. "No one gets to use my rifle other than me, and who can use my handgun is my decision. You can't get these custom made babies anywhere. Otherwise your welcome to our other handguns and shotguns when the time comes to make some noise."

"Okay, It's settled then. Blake, Jen, Kitty, and Selene your up top, Pick off any zombies you see that get to close to us. Hiro and James, your with me. No guns for us we gotta stay quiet, you shooters up top can go hog wild with the noise." Jack commanded.

Jack put down his shotgun near the rear bay door. "Be right back guys I gotta get some stuff in the store, James come along I might need help." Jack said. The two walked back into the store toward a shelf that interested Jack. Jack walked up to the shelf and grabbed a pair of walkie talkies. "These will come in handy." Jack said to James. "Alright James lets get back to the group, we got a job to do. Damn it wait I need a quieter weapon than my shotgun..." Jack continued.

Hiro stood in the back watching the survivors planning and preparing themselves. Looking at his canteen he decided it was time to refill it with his secret liquid. Going to the shelves he took some apple cider, some vinegar and a little salt. Mixing them together he took a sniff of the aroma This smells putrid still, but it worked so far He took a sip and smiled, it was flawless. "I'm ready whenever you people decide to move out."

James followed Jack through the store for supplies. James saw Jack run off toward a shelf full of walkie talkies, and James was about to go help him when something caught his eye...

A nice wooden bat. James picked up the item and swung it around a few times. "This should do nicely..." He said while staring at the heavy piece of woodcraft. He walked up to Jack and said, "Hey Jack you can have your machete back I found something I like better." before handing Jack the weapon. He looked at the man, hands full with walkie talkies. "unless you have more things on your 'things to get' list then I think it's time to get this show on the road."

Jack turned toward James to see him staring at the bat like it was a Goddess
and decided to just take the machete then make witty criticisms. James continued by stating it was time to start the operation. "So it is, So it is." Jack said.

the two walked back to the others, jack handed out the walkie talkies. "No idle chatter, only things pertaining to the mission, got it?" Jack said sternly. Without waiting for an answer he continued by saying, "Okay, Blake and the girls get up to the roof on the south east end, stay unseen for now, message us with the walkies when your in position. Hiro, James, your with me. now Roof team your main job is to distract and control the zombie numbers while the ground team closes the door and clears the zombies." He ordered.

Jack walked over to the bay door, and stretched his arms. He looked back at the others and realized some people might not make it. He dug around in his brain for a second trying to remember an old saying...'Fake it till ya make it'. the others were now climbing the ladder. He turned to Hiro and James and said, "Don't worry guys, this will be a walk in the park, with zombies."

Feeling his arms become limber after the stretches he raised the machete and swung it around a few times in Eskrima movements. Feeling as prepared as it was gong to get he waited patiently for the go ahead from his eyes in the sky...

Jenn stood there and listened to Jack's orders. "Ok I got it, i'm going up to the roof now" Jenn said confidently. Jenn climbed up the ladder to the roof, get up to the roof...get into a good spot to distract zombies...tell Jack...then wait for more orders. Jenn pondered those orders over and over in her head as she was climbing up the ladder so she wouldn't forget. Jenn finally made it to the roof and was looking around for a minute to get used to where she was at. She found a decent spot above the store sign and whispered in on the walkie so the zombies below didn't hear her..."I'm in position, ready whever you guys are."

Kitty climbed up after Jenn. She took one last look back at the small group. Why did she have a bad feeling? Was it because there were so many of them that one person could disappear before the others realized anything? She sighed and shook the tragic thoughts out of her head and finished her ascend to the roof. She immediately dropped into a crouch and snuck over to the walls of the roof, she looked for the zombies then lifted her pistol up and over the wall aimed straight at them. She waited for the rest to get on the roof but as soon as the action started she would be ready. She smiled with grim satisfaction and then cut on the walkie talkie. "I'm in position."

Blake went and grabbed some electrical tape and a garbage bag then walked around the store grabbing aerosol cans of anything that he could find that was flammable. He would tape them up in groups of four before throwing them in the bag until he had six of them. Then he took them to the top of the roof.

He walks up to Kitty on the roof. "Give me the pistol. You're up here to make noise remember. All you gals would have better luck doing damage using shotguns. Jen come here and take mine."

Jack heard Kat give the go ahead signal. Then he looked at Hiro, then James and said, "Okay guys, lets do this thing." Then grabbed the radio clipped on his belt, clicked the transmit button and said, "Okay here we go."

Jack looked over to the 12 guage leaning against the wall looking extremely lonely Jack couldnt help but pick it up and slide the machette in a belt loop, just in case he thought. He then went up to the bay door and said, "James, raise the door I'll cover you with the shotgun. He crouched down in front of the door and raised the shotgun to his shoulder ready to fire.....

Kitty handed Blake the pistol and took out her shotgun and mumbled, "A lotta good that will do on the roof." She shook her head and waited. Then Jack gave the go ahead. She exhaled and pulled up the shotgun. "It's now or never." She fired the first shot, managing to kill one zombie, suprised as she was. She fired again and tried to get their attention.

Hiro took out his handgun and shot three rounds, each shot hit a target..but alas not one shot a kill shot. "I hate guns, really I do" He took another swig of his canteen and then aimed the gun, with a reawakened skill each shot he fired killed one of the grey demons. Hiro smiled "I once more love guns" in a joking manner, but his smile slowly fell...more of the zombies had begun to pour out of the buildings. "How much ammo do we have again?"

Jenn took the shotgun from Blake and looked over it to see how it worked. She heard Kitty fire off a shot that startled her at first, but then she saw what Kitty was doing and remembered her orders. Jenn aimed the shotgun at a zombie that had an eye ball drooping down and a missing arm. What an ugly zombie Jenn thought. She fired and it was a kill shot. "Haha take that fugly" she mumbled under her breath after she killed the disgusting zombie. She kept distracting zombies with Kitty and waited for new orders.

Blake started taking the bundles of aerosol cans and tossing them out on to the street near the zombies. Then he readied his rifle and took aim, shooting the cans when zombies got nearby. The explosions weren't enough to kill them but at least it was enough to severely cripple any that were nearby.

Right after he was done shooting the cans he, slung his rifle on his back and headed back down the latter into the alley around back.

James pulled up the bay door and jumped a little as Jack fired his shotgun right next to his shoulder, blowing away a zombies face. James quickly recovered his wooden bat from the floor and hopped down from the raised floor of the loading dock.

He was kind of relieved by the amount of zombies, he expected maybe twice as much. Mind wandering at zombie statistics he almost didn't notice an undead fiend coming upon him. He leapt back and brought the bat down hard on its head with a disgusting crack.

"Lets move forward to the gate, we'll close it off so no more can come through then we'll take care of the ones left inside." He yelled to the others. He heard a couple small explosions near the gate and saw some leg chunks fly up. But that didn't seem to even phase the effected wretches, they just crawled toward the survivors. James gave the crawlers a few golf-like swings with his bat to quickly dispatch them.

Some of the zombies outside the gate took notice to the commotion over yonder and started shuffling toward them. "Guys hurry we need to get it closed before they get in!" Wacking a few more ghouls cleared the way for him to sprint to the gate, he turned to see where the others were...

Jack blew away one creep's dome just as James pulled up the door, almost like it knew what James was doing. He followed James down the edge of the dock and started making his way for his suv for Thadius. A few slack-jaws took notice of Jacks efforts and started making their way toward him. Jack quickly dispatched them with just one shot. "Man I love it when they group together like that, makes it so much easier to blow their brains out!" He finally made it to the car and opened up the passenger door. The dog leaps out almost immediately, barking at the undead corpses approaching jack.

The first one being too close to bring the rifle around, Jack butts the stock of the shotgun in its face hard enough to shove nose cartilage into its brain, killing it for good. after that one dropped he had enough breathing room to blow away the other two accompanying the first. Jack heard someone else yelling something but couldn't tell who was yelling or what, so he ran toward it. To his relief, no one was dying, from his group at least. It was James trying to get the gate closed. "James, I'll take care of the goons around the gate if you can get it closed." Without waiting for an answer, Jack continues to raise the body-count.

Kitty distracted as many zombies as she could, but there were so many of them. As she took time to reload she heard a noise in the store. She looked down the ladder, and without telling the others quickly rushed down cursing under her breath. As she landed on the floor she quickly pointer her gun at the zombie stumbling around and shot. She then aimed towards the front door where they had managed to break through. She cursed again and shot a few rounds killing some, she then took her walkie talkie, "Jack, they broke through the front door. A plan would be lovely right about now. Blake I'm going to need help. Kitty out." She continued firing shots slowly backing herself into a wall without realizing it.

Jenn was distracting zombies the best she could when she heard Kitty needed help. She knew the others were to far away still to help Kitty in time before to many zombies were in the store. Jenn stopped and found where Kitty had jumped down and followed the same path, but a zombie broke Jenn's fall and before it had a chance to do anything she unloaded some buck shot into it's half exposed brain. "GROSS!" Jenn expressed. Jenn then continued to find Kitty and help fend off the zombie breach in the front door of the store.
